ev news

Hey EV’ers,

Today marks World EV Day! How will you be celebrating? I say we do so with some exciting EV news. Over the last fortnight, we’ve witnessed not one, not two, but three incredible EV-filled shows. The Fully Charged show at Farnborough International, the 2021 EV Summit, and the IAA convention in Munich have provided us lucky folks with a flood of fascinating EV news. Let’s have a roundup of two of these, the Fully Charged show and the IAA convention.

fullycharged show

From electric diggers to boilers to unicycles and, of course, electric cars, this year’s Fully Charged show had it all. The weather even held up too! If that isn’t a good sign, I don’t know what is.

Enthusiasm and passion oozed from every brand attending, with big names such as Tesla, Ford, BMW, VW, Renault and Audi (the list goes on) showing off their impressive catalogue of electric vehicles. There was a ton of public interactivity to be had as well, with manufacturers such as Axon showcasing their foldable electric bikes that you could zip around the test track with.

If you haven’t watched it already, click here or on the image above to watch the official video from the convention, showing all of the top highlights. It’s fantastic fun!

“Next Generation Mobility. NOW” is the brand motto for ZF this year at the IAA (International Motor Show) in Munich, and in fact, it perfectly sums up the electric atmosphere of the convention.

An incredible amount of news has poured out of this conference, with the likes of Mercedes showcasing five completely new EVs (part of their $47 billion EV plan), the Porsche Mission R with a whopping 1,073 bhp and the SMART Concept #1 SUV, each providing a unique angle on an electric future.

Taking place from the 7th until the 12th of September, this show promises a fantastic array of surprises and innovations. Has this whet your appetite? Check out Auto Express’ cover of the event here.
