ev news
Leaves are beginning to yellow as autumn takes its hold over the country, and for the lucky ones out there who like to saddle up on two wheels, now is the time for getting out there and enjoying the fine weather while it lasts.
It’s also the perfect time to leave those trailing queues for petrol behind; with your trusty EV you can spend time focusing on what really matters, be that taking a trip to see family or simply enjoying the thrills of the open road. Two wheels, a Led Zeppelin album and some twisty roads would be my choice personally…
This week, we’d like to take a special look at some of the latest updates in the electric motorbike sphere. We can’t let cars have all the fun, right?
The Record Is In Sight
It’s been an exciting few months for White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC), who are creeping ever closer to achieving their goal of breaking the EV land speed record of 254mph. Currently, the record is held by the Voxan Wattman, who achieved this mind-numbing speed in November of last year. So how does WMC hope to smash their record?
The WMC250EV may well be the key to their success. The prototype above features four Hacker synchronous electric motors that produce 100kW, which estimates roughly 135hp. While still in development, the folks over at WMC hope to over double the power output of the bike, to around 250kW, or 335hp.
Keep your ears open for early next year, when WMC will attempt to smash the EV speed record and plant themselves firmly at the forefront of EV innovation.

All the Bells and Whistles: The Zero 2022 Range
(Featured: The 2022 Zero DSR)
Now, this wouldn’t be an article about electric motorbikes if we didn’t feature the Zero at some point! Well, now we’ve got all the more reason to, as Zero Motorcycles has recently revealed their 2022 Zero S street motorcycles, DS and DSR dual-sport models in all their glory.
The Zero S, DS and DSR models all feature Zero’s fantastic Cypher II Operating System, which incorporates the likes of Bluetooth connectivity to the company app, and easily switchable performance profiles, such as eco and sport modes.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Zero DSR 2022 is the sheer amount of torque it produces, dialling in at 116 ft-lb. Now that’s some serious shifting. But of course, there’s plenty of incredible specs to read about for each of these models. If you’d like to read more, click here.
